Manager licensing in Indiana
Indiana does not require a state license to manage a community association. That does not mean credentials are irrelevant — it means the Board has to do the verification the state is not doing.
What to verify before you hire
Confirm the legal entity is in good standing in Indiana, and that the name on the proposal matches the name that will sign the agreement.
General liability, errors and omissions, and a fidelity or crime bond sized to the funds they will handle. Ask for certificates with dates, not a claim in a brochure.
CMCA, AMS, PCAM, LSM, RS, and CIRMS are issued by CAMICB and CAI and are individually verifiable. Ask how many staff hold each, not whether the firm "has" them.
AAMC is the company-level accreditation. It is meaningful and it is checkable.
Three current Boards of similar size and type, contacted directly. Ask specifically about manager turnover and financial delivery.
